Getting By, Dreaming Big

I am 30 years old and live in New York City with my husband Jon.  I started blogging the summer of 2007 just 6 months or so after moving from Boston to New York.  When I started my blog it was a way for me to stay in touch with people – family & friends – and let them know what I was up to.  After 1 1/2 years of blogging my blog was inconsistent and all over the place.  I had a difficult time writing and coming up with good posts.

I took some time to think about what I really wanted to blog about and I came up with my current format and structure:  Monday Bookworms, Tuesday Travels, Foodie Wednesday and Entertainment Thursday.  This structure makes it easier for me to decide what to write about because I’m writing about 4 things that I love!  Sometimes I also write a Catch-All Friday post which can be about anything I want to write about.

The title comes from one of my favorite Sugarland songs, “Everyday America”.  I certainly “Dream Big” but I feel like I am a pretty regular person who’s just “Getting By” which was what I loved about the line.  I thought it fit perfectly with the idea of my blog.

I’m in the process of trying to expand my blog, make it bigger and better and get additional readers.  So if you like reading Getting By, Dreaming Big please tell people about it!
